Travis Oliver

Picker - Singer - Songwriter - Grinner

Travis is an acoustic guitarist, singer and songwriter that specializes in flatpicking guitar and roots music.  Currently based in the Ocean Beach community of San Diego, Ca, he was raised between the Mountains and Swamps throughout the Southeastern U.S. taking in musical influences along the way.  These influences include Doc Watson, Tony Rice, Reno and Smiley, The Allman Brothers, Jimi Hendrix and Phish. He began learning the art of acoustic roots music at an early age and spent many years honing his musical voice and style.  As a 10th generation Appalachian, he comes from families rich in musical heritage like his cousin and International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame inductee Arthur Lee “Red” Smiley.

Travis’ performances strategically balance fiery guitar picking, tone filled melodies, heartfelt ballads and witty song selections to entertain the listener. Occasionally he is joined by his son Taylor to sing songs together. He has been performing in the San Diego area since 2012 in music venues, cafes, restaurants and festivals as a solo performer and with bands.  He has opened for local bands as well as national touring acts and has shared the stage with top notch music professionals like Tyler Grant (Grant Farm, Bill Nershi Band), John Mailander (Billy Strings, Bruce Hornsby) and Kellen Asebroek (Fruition).Add text
